The 64 Dream

After a month of design revisions, play testing, and public betas, I’m really pleased to bring you the release version of my line of Nintendo 64 skins for Delta; Ultra NT!

I made Ultra NT because I wanted a Delta skin that made it easy to play Banjo-Kazooie, and after having beat the game and moving on to the sequel, I think it’s ready for prime time!

So… what makes Ultra NT “ultra-capable”?

It’s the same thing that makes Delta Pocket special; combo buttons! The combo buttons on Ultra NT make it easy to do things like long jump in Super Mario 64, fire eggs in Banjo-Kazooie, use items in Mario Kart 64! Just press the button you want to hold, and slide your finger toward the A, B, or Z button!

Editions

As per usual, I made a ton of colors and editions to choose from! The free tier of Ultra NT includes the original 6 colors of the N64 controller and orange, inspired by the Pikachu edition controller. It’s like Christmas 1996 all over again!

Now on to the Special Editions...

From the monochrome Ultra 64 Prototype controller, the silver Millennium 2000, to the glossy Revolution– each of the Special Editions in Ultra NT+ will take you on a journey through the history of the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and Wii!

And lastly, there are the Transparent Editions. These editions have new internals for components like the thumbstick, and come in carefully selected colors based on the clear N64 controllers, including the incredibly vibrant 2000’s Funtastic colors!

And that’s the initial release for Ultra NT! If you participated in the public preview, you might have noticed that the B-Type control scheme for landscape mode wasn’t mentioned; I’ll get that out soon, but I really wanted to launch this as soon as possible!

I loved working on this project and revisiting games from my childhood. I hope Ultra NT inspires you to play some of the excellent titles that helped pave the way for modern 3D games!
